Scheme of work geared towards meeting Global Education Standard” – Sanwo-Olu

In order to make education to conform to global standard and make the teaching learning process more interactive, the Lagos State Ministry of Education unveiled the new scheme of work with some E-book and mobile learning application for secondary school students at the NECA house recently.
The Governor of Lagos State
Babajide Sanwo-Olu represented by Mrs. Folashade Jaji while giving her speech
at the unveiling said, the reviewed
unified curriculum became imperative in order to “meet the demand of modern
education without veering off the national benchmark provided by the Nigeria
Education Research and Development Council (NERDC).”
She also said, the unified scheme
of work is a ground breaking statutory
document designed to revolutionize education in the state and aim at making
the acquisition of learning take roots in learners and conform to global best
practices in the 21st century.
Speaking further, she said the
new scheme of work are “age-specific”
and this serve as a veritable reference materials to meet learners needs as
stipulated in the NERDC curriculum.
While reiterating the achievement
of the state government in the area of education, she said “over 15,000
teachers have been retrained through the EKO-EXCEL with digital- learning
innovation.
During her speech, the Honourable
Commissioner of Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo stirs up the audience by
singing in Yoruba rhythm to make goal of education realization through a
concerted effort.
The special guest also took time
to visit the exhibition stands where some students exhibited some of the
robotic project and artificial intelligent made by them. A student from one of
the secondary schools in Lagos also did a presentation on how some of those
thing discussed could work. At the climax of the event, the revisewed unified
scheme of work, mobile learning application and E-books were unveiled and
presented officially while students from various secondary schools, teachers,
and other stakeholders were invited to the podium for the unveiling.
